How it works
Live Scan in Three Steps.
Live Scan is the electronic fingerprinting system California uses for background checks. We capture your fingerprints digitally and send them to the California DOJ, and to the FBI when your form requests it.
Get Your Form
The agency asking for your background check gives you a completed Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) with its codes filled in.
We Come to You
We arrive with our Live Scan equipment, check your ID and form, and capture your fingerprints. Most people are done in 10 to 15 minutes.
Results Go to Your Agency
Your prints go electronically to the DOJ and FBI. You leave with a receipt showing your tracking number, and the results go directly to your agency.

One visit, one mobile fee
Notary + Live Scan in the Same Visit.
Because we are a mobile Notary firm, we can notarize your documents and take your Live Scan on the same appointment. Book a Notary visit and add Live Scan for $50 per person, with no second mobile fee.
Popular combinations
Notary Public applicants finishing their commission paperwork, caregivers signing a power of attorney or healthcare forms, and families handling several documents at once.
Fingerprints for use abroad
Need It Apostilled for Use Abroad?
A Live Scan result goes straight to the agency that asked for it. When a foreign government needs your background check or fingerprints, we take your prints and handle the Apostille too.
FBI Background Check
We take your fingerprints for your FBI background check, then Apostille the FBI report through the U.S. Department of State once it arrives.
Notarized Fingerprint Cards
Some countries ask for the fingerprint card itself. We print your card, notarize a copy certification, and Apostille it through the California Secretary of State.
Fingerprint cards are $50 per person plus the $65 mobile fee, with extra cards $15 each. Apostille starts at $175 and includes the first notarization.
Flat pricing
Mobile Live Scan Prices.
One mobile fee covers everyone at the same address on the same visit. Government fees are added at cost.
Price List
If your form shows an agency billing number, the agency pays the government fees directly. A group never pays more than the next group size would.
Common questions
Live Scan FAQ.
How much does mobile Live Scan cost?
For one person, our price is $115: a $50 rolling fee plus a $65 mobile fee to come to you. Government fees are added at cost, usually $32 for the California DOJ and $17 for the FBI when your form requests a federal check. Your agency may add its own fees, which are listed on your form.
What do I need for my Live Scan appointment?
Bring the completed Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) from the agency that asked for your background check, plus a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Your agency fills in its codes on the form, and those codes tell us exactly where to send your fingerprints.
Where do my results go?
Your fingerprints are sent electronically to the California DOJ, and to the FBI when your form requests it. Results go straight to the agency that requested them, such as your licensing board, school district, or employer.
How long does a Live Scan appointment take?
Most appointments take about 10 to 15 minutes per person once we are set up. Results usually reach the requesting agency within a few business days, and FBI checks can take longer during busy periods.
Can you fingerprint several people in one visit?
Yes. Everyone at the same address on the same visit shares one $65 mobile fee. The first person is $50, people two through four are $45 each, and groups of five to nine are $40 each.
Can I get my Live Scan and a Notary appointment in the same visit?
Yes. Book your Notary visit and add Live Scan for $50 per person, with no second mobile fee. This works well for Notary Public applicants, caregivers signing paperwork, and families handling several documents at once.
Do you offer evening and weekend Live Scan appointments?
Yes. Evening, weekend, and same-day emergency appointments are available for a $50 after-hours fee, the same as our mobile Notary visits.
Do you handle large groups and classes?
Yes. Groups of 10 or more, including security guard training classes, staffing agencies, and employer onboarding days, get group pricing starting at $38 per person. Call us to schedule a group date.
Can you Apostille my fingerprints or background check?
Yes. For use abroad, we take your fingerprints for an FBI background check and Apostille the FBI report once it arrives. If a country asks for the fingerprint card itself, we notarize a copy certification of your card and Apostille it through the California Secretary of State.
